Full time. Berlin or remote in Europe. You would be our second engineer, building the systems behind FPO Live and every dossier we ship side by side with Ethan, our co-founder who leads product, data and engineering.

What you'd do
- Own large parts of FPO Live's backend with Ethan: architecture, data model, APIs, and keeping it fast and correct as it grows.
- Turn large, messy, fast-changing data into answers customers can rely on, and know when to say we are not sure.
- Put AI into production where it earns its place, and measure it, so we can stand behind every result.
- Decide with the founders what we build next, then build it.
What we're looking for
- Five years or more building production backends in Python, Go or Rust, including one you designed that still runs without you.
- Postgres in depth: query plans, partitioning and migrations without downtime on tables with hundreds of millions of rows.
- Machine learning or LLM features you shipped to real users, with an evaluation you would defend in front of a sceptic.
- English fluently. German or another European language is useful, not required.
